• Dr Ilies Tibaoui is an Algerian Orthodontist and has his private practice with his wife in Algiers, Algeria.
• Since the beginning of his career, Dr Tibaoui understood the importance of Management and communication in the dental field so he got deeply involved in organizational and behavioral psychology.
• He has also a passion for Beauty and Aesthetics that led him to join the Pitts Master Program and became an instructor.
• He is now specializing in teaching Aesthetics and beauty for orthodontists, the Pitts Protocol, blending extra radicular TAD’s with PSL for complex cases, Digital Smile Design, Emotional Dentistry and Communication.

THE MISSING LINK

For a long time, and still today we Orthodontists believed we are the SMILE specialists.
We believe we are working on function and aesthetics. And we know that most of our patients come for aesthetics.
But is that true ? Is science confirming that?
Absolutely No. For example studies are showing that there is absolutely no correlation between cases presented and accepted at the American Board of Orthodontists and the smile attractiveness evaluated by layperson, dentists and orthodontists. How come what we believed to be the best cases in the world are not aesthetic? Where have we Failed? And what are we missing?
In our presentation, we’ll first answer these questions and show why we are failing.
Then we’ll propose simple strategies to overcome these challenges and to be able to understand and create beauty.
